Since the inception of SMS in the 90’s, messaging has been limited to 160 characters per SMS message. EMS will change all that.
EMS means that SMS Worldwide text systems will be able to SMS up to 1,280 characters per SMS message from a computer or Laptop.

SMS Worldwide London, Vodafone and New Scotland Yard held talks this week to discuss “how they can work together” in planing and creating a virtual GSM USB SMS Alert system network, for three of Scotland Yards critical operation sites.
SMS Worldwide has been running its current SMS Alert system technology in these sites for the last four years with great success. The move is part of SMS Worldwide’s strategy of introducing new SMS technologies and keeping Scotland Yard as the world leader in SMS security alert communication.
This hybrid of technologies between SMS Worldwide and Vodafone will provide Scotland Yard with the most advanced High Speed USB SMS text ALERT system in the event of a major incident, as well as for its general communication applications from these three critical sites.
While Scotland Yard is widely recognised as the world’s flagship police force, it is again set to maintain the lead in new technology advancements in alert communication. These critical Scotland Yard sites already operating our SMS text Alert system will in effect themselves become a private independent mobile base-station, with a large increase in SMS speed capacity through a virtual private network.
The key factor is that the USB SMS system will as before require no connectivity to the Internet or telephone line. Follow-up discussions on a “get-to-know-your technology” between SMS Worldwide London and GSM will take place during December before the Christmas and New Year holiday break. Draft papers to the integration of the different technologies will take place over the next months. Once proven, the private network SMS system may be introduced to other Scotland Yard and Met sites.

Forest Gate Operations will for the first time be using the USB SMS Alert System as the prime security communication during a Barclaycard Premiership football match in England.
